The Will Goble Trio

"A formidable trio of young musicians"
-George Kanzler, Jazz Times

Will and his trio perform original music, standards, and both well known and lesser known compositions from some of the great performers in jazz history. With a focus on infectious rhythm, the blues, group communication, and an honest presentation of their influences, the group is dedicated to connecting with people of different backgrounds and growing together as a band. The group commonly expands to become a quartet or quintet as well.

David Potter - drums
Having been featured in the piano trios of Ellis Marsalis and Marcus Roberts, David Potter is quickly becoming known as a formidable musician. Throughout his four years as an undergraduate student at the Florida State University, David had the opportunity to perform concerts and clinics with artists in residence such as Wycliffe Gordon, Victor Goines, Greg Tardy, and Russell Gunn. His accomplishments have led to many opportunities, including selection from an international pool of applicants in 2005 to be a member of the Louis Armstrong Quintet at the University of New Orleans. Unfortunately, the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina temporarily ended his hopes for a career in Louisiana. In the spring of 2006, he began to re-audition for graduate schools and was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard Jazz program in New York City. After several days of intense meditation, Potter declined the offer and returned to Florida State University to work and collaborate with his mentor Marcus Roberts where he completed his MM in December of 2008. David now resides in Atlanta, GA, and tours with Jason Marsalis and his Vibraphone Quartet both nationally and internationally. Other professional credits include appearances with Marcus Printup, Martin Bejerano, Roland Guerin, Delbert Felix, Doug Carn, Phillip Harper, Vincent Gardner, Wessell Anderson, Kevin Bales, and Jeff Babko.

Ratio ManAustin Johnson - piano
Austin Johnson currently resides in New Orleans, LA after graduating from Florida State University where he studied piano with Marcus Roberts and Bill Peterson. Austin performs around New Orleans with Jason Marsalis and others. He has also performed with Delfeayo Marsalis, Marlon Jordan, and Herlin Riley. Prior to arriving in New Orleans and then Tallahassee, he studied music at East Carolina University and North Carolina Central University, where he had the privilege of performing in concerts and master classes with Branford Marsalis, Todd Williams, and Winard Harper. During his time as a student, Austin performed professionally throughout North Carolina as a freelance musician with Stephen Riley, Robert Trowers, and Lenora Helm, as well as being featured in the Steve Hobbs Quartet and with Carroll Dashiell and the CVD Ensemble.
